Chanson pour Amine - Debate

Chanson pour Amine

After the screening, journalist Hassnae Bouazza will discuss the film with Nassera Dutour, director Alberto Bougleux and the Algerian-Dutch filmmaker, Karim Traidia, director of The Polish Bride.

In the 1990s, an estimated 6.000 people disappeared in Algeria. The government has never offered a clear explanation for the fate of these missing men and women.

It is a lack of information that would frustrate anyone - especially if your son is one of the people who disappeared. Since the disappearance of her son in 1997, Nassera Dutour has devoted her time to shattering the silence surrounding the disappearances. She is the spokesperson for the Collective of the Families of the Disappeared in Algeria (CFDA).

Karim Traïdia

Karim Traïdia was the filmmaker behind international cinema hit The Polish Bride, which was nominated for a Golden Globe and other awards. Originally from the Algerian village of Besbes, situated near the front lines of the French-Algerian war that dominated the land of his birth in the 1950s, Traïdia studied sociology in Paris and came to the Netherlands in 1979. He graduated from the Dutch Film and Television Academy in 1991. Karim is the brother of actor Hakim Traïdia.
